6. Daniel Bryan & Rowan (c) Vs. The New Day Vs. Heavy Machinery

Baron Corbin Becky Lynch
WWE

Daniel Bryan bidding farewell to his SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship should free him up to salvage the status of the WWE Title instead...but more on that later. Instead - and to vindicate everything Bryan's attempted to do with this division and these titles - it's more important to talk about what a rousing, roaring success this contest was.

Heavy Machinery were both excellent again. Rowan looked like a killer, again. The New Day, spare parts for too long in a league that's struggled without them, Champions again. Daniel Bryan was a gift to everything he's a part of again.

It's hard to classify this as match of the night considering the strength of the card overall but something felt special about this, not least because of the ultra-happy ending. This was the one contest that achieved greatness without bells and whistles - it relied on high quality wrestling to produce a high quality outing, which has been the modus operandi of the brilliant Bryan since the day he started wrestling. Impossible not to pin its success on him after all...
