14 Wrestlers Who Should Probably Regret Leaving WWE

13. Sycho Sid

WWE.comWWE.comSid bounced back and forth between WWE and WCW in the early 1990s, eventually landing back on the WWE roster in 1995. When Sid originally joined WWE in 1991, he had a lot of hype around him as a massive, heir to the throne of Hulk Hogan. He arrived on the scene as a fan favorite and was the referee for a huge match at SummerSlam 1991 when Sgt Slaughter teamed with Col. Mustafa (The Iron Sheik) against Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior. Soon thereafter, Sid started a feud with Hogan, turning heel and gaining a main event spot at WrestleMania 8. After failing a drug test in WWE and a failed run to be a professional softball player, Sid returned to WCW. In his 2nd of three stints with WCW, Sid got into an infamous altercation with Arn Anderson at a hotel in the United Kingdom. During this scuffle, Sid stabbed Arn Anderson with scissors twenty times in the chest and stomach. Both men were rushed to the hospital and Sid was released from WCW shortly thereafter. After returning to Memphis for a couple of years to feud with Jerry Lawler in the USWA, Sid returned to WWE in 1995. During his run as Shawn Michaels' bodyguard, Sid was able to gain momentum and get back into the public eye of WWE fans. He became WWE Champion twice and even main evented WrestleMania 13 against The Undertaker, his 2nd WrestleMania main event while a member of the WWE roster. Sid parted ways with WWE in 1997, had a short stint in ECW in early 1999 and eventually landing back in WCW later that year, being hyped as "The Millennium Man." During his final WCW run, Sid suffered a major injury on January 14, 2001 at the "Sin" pay-per-view. While attempting a flying big boot from the middle turnbuckle, Sid landed on one leg and fractured it. When thinking back, if Sid never decided to leave WWE after his main event level run in 1997, he may have never fractured his leg and nearly ended his career. The injury not only took him off WWE's radar, but shortened his professional career overall. Also, if Sid hadn't left the WWE in 1992, he likely wouldn't have ended up in a life-threatening situation with Arn Anderson in a United Kingdom hotel room.
