2. Tony Atlas

Hogan was almost literally an overnight sensation upon returning to the WWF in late 1983.

He dethroned WWF Champion Iron Sheik within a fortnight. Vince didn't f*ck around; with live events the key financial metric of a completely different era, Hogan finished his story about as quickly as it takes one to wrap up something written by Dr. Seuss.

He didn't spend much time jobbing in general. He was a massive unit who possessed an innate megastar charisma. He was always destined to be an enormous attraction.

Still, he did pay his dues to an extent, and stared at the lights for Tony Atlas no less than four times, only scoring the one win in their spring 1981 programme. Atlas himself packed a quite incredible physique and was exceptionally strong. While this entry may come as a surprise, given that Atlas is more well-known these days for his sexual proclivities, he was a big star in his own right before personal demons haunted his prime years.
