14 Wrestling Gimmicks Blatantly Stolen From Hollywood
6. The Legion Of Doom - Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
Considering that The Legion of Doom's original team name was The Road Warriors, they didn't even attempt to hide where their influence came from, and just as well, considering they're one of the most decorated and iconic tag teams in wrestling history.
Beyond the name, it's largely the look that's ripped off from Mad Max 2, what with the giant shoulder pads, face paint and wacky hair-styles resembling that of the movie's antagonist, Wez (Vernon Wells).
Because they stole the look from the villain nobody can remember the name of rather than Mad Max himself, they were able to get away with this. It probably helped that Mad Max was still a relatively niche property in the early 80s, too.
