14 WWE Stars Who Wanted To Fight In UFC

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnieLt9eDfA Dave Batista was one of the most successful WWE stars of the 2000 - 2010 decade, but walked away from the company after WrestleMania 26. He didn't like the PG era, so he decided to finally act on his passion for MMA. Brock Lesnar had show the way. Go to a smaller fight promotion, score an impressive win, then give Dana White a call. Like Lesnar, Batista had name value. UFC could have made big money promoting his fights. A huge guy and a purple belt in jiu jitsu, he was clearly not to be messed with. He won his first fight in 2012, but it would also prove to be his last fight. The torture of a three month MMA camp and the lack of money starting out (when he'd been used to millions in WWE) was enough to put him off continuing. If the UFC had came calling, it may have been a different story, but Dana White wasn't willing to sign such an unproven and ageing competitor. €œI don€™t know. I don€™t know. I would have to see what happens,€ Dana White told Fighters Only Magazine in 2012 about the prospect of signing Batista. €œWhen Brock came to me and he was 1-0 and told me he wanted to fight I was like are you f*king crazy dude you€™re gonna get killed over here. And the only reason I took him into the UFC was his wrestling background, you know?"
