14 WWE WrestleMania 34 Impulse Reactions

10. History Repeated

Roman Reigns

It was a case of multiple second verses as the same as the first except a little bit louder and an awful lot worse.

Charlotte emerged from a golden throne, flanked by three masked behemoths that are most likely NXT prospects just as she was along side Raw contemporaries Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss when Triple H entered for his battle with Daniel Bryan in the same arena four years earlier.

She wept buckets at the end of this match - in keeping with Flair WrestleMania tradition - due in-part to the response the result received. Her opponent saw her near 1000-day undefeated streak burned to a cinder, just as hers had been a month before WrestleMania in 2017. New Orleans hosted the end of the greatest streak in the same building four years prior.

The common denominator amongst these coincidences is how little they all mattered. Ric Flair's emotional retirement only lasted until TNA found the right price to get him back in tights. Charlotte was beaten before 'Mania, then at the show, then in the months that followed as she spent months trying to re-find form on SmackDown. And The Undertaker never had a good 'proper' WrestleMania match ever again.

'The Empress Of Tomorrow's destiny remains partially unknown...though sadly not totally without precedent.
