Prior to 2005, Juvi last held the Cruiserweight title in November 1998, losing the title at WCW’s annual three-ring circus, World War 3. Juventud was bested by Billy Kidman that night due to interference involving Rey Mysterio and a belt. Namely, the belt holding up Kidman’s shorts, which Rey grabbed to prevent a top-rope hurricanrana by Guerrera.

Though he had last worn the Cruiserweight title in WCW as a member of the Latino World Order, a group styled after the New World Order, Juventud next wore the belt as a member of the Mexicools, a group styled after groundskeepers. Hey, don’t blame me; it was WWE who came up with the idea. Juvi won the Cruiserweight title in WWE in October 2005 at No Mercy, beating mafia member Nunzio (blame ECW for that one) to end his nearly seven-year drought.
