The Rock may arguably be the best talker the industry has ever seen; winning all the major titles and participated in some of the biggest match-ups in the companys history. Today, he finds himself as one of the highest grossing movie stars in Hollywood. And Rockys acting skills definitely helped him in the ring, and so made him more than capable of delivering a story worth watching. Ask anyone, and theyll tell you his best match was against Steve Austin at WrestleMania 17. The story of the match was as personal as it gets, with the two at each others throats after a rivalry involving Austins wife, Debra. The two were out for blood, and it didnt take long to get their wish, busting each other open with the ring bell early on in the No DQ Match. They also used each others finishing manoeuvres a number of times, for the sake of humiliation. The match ended with a huge shocker, with Austin turning heel and pummelling his opponent with sixteen chair shots, before making the pin and shaking hands with the devil himself, Vince McMahon. This came after The Rock showed tremendous resiliency, kicking out of several Stunners with the hopes of bouncing back and defeating his nemesis. This showed that actions do indeed speak louder than words in WWE, with the fans then siding with Rock after this epic showdown.
