8. The Hardys Vs. Edge & Christian - Tag Team Ladder Match (No Mercy 1999)
The finals of the T.I.T (Terri Invitational Tournament), this is the match that really put the Hardys and Edge & Christian on the map. They had been having decent matches to little fanfare before this night but, afterwards, they were superstars. There hadn't been too many ladder matches in the WWF before No Mercy 1999 and there had never been a tag team ladder match before, so it was already fresh and different. The two teams took full advantage of their opportunity and put on a breathtaking stunt show that had fans' jaws placed firmly on the floor. Fans had not seen this type of risk-taking and bumping since Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon five years prior. Jeff Hardy, in particular, seemed to make it his mission to try and end his career early by regularly throwing caution to the wind. The Hardys won the match but both teams won over the fans. The next night on Raw the audience gave both teams a well-deserved standing ovation. The match has aged a lot better than other ladder matches from the era, since the emphasis was on the story and struggle to grab the contract and prize money and not necessarily on the spots.
