A large amount of WWE fans were upset when Daniel Bryan wasn't even entered into the 2014 Royal Rumble match. Outraged would probably be a better description of what they were feeling, actually. When they realised Bryan wasn't appearing or winning they famously hijacked the show and booed babyface winner Batista out of the building. Things didn't cool down much in the weeks after the Rumble and, realising that the chants weren't going to go away any time soon, WWE added Bryan to the World Title mix. They didn't really had a choice. Fan support was so strong for Bryan, a wrestler who had been entertaining WWE fans for five years and some others for many years before that in Ring of Honor and in Japan. Still, although he was added to the equation, it didn't necessarily mean that he was going to be walking away from 'Mania as Champion. He first had to get through Triple H and then Orton and Batista (while sporting an injury). The odds were stacked against Bryan but, like Stone Cold in his prime, he overcame them and beat all three Evolution members on the night. It was a wonderful moment, seeing the hard-working journeyman holding Wrestling's biggest prize as confetti fell, fireworks went off and 70,000 people chanted 'Yes'. It's a moment that doesn't look as though it's going to be repeated any time soon. Savour it. It was the best moment of the decade. So far, at least. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsX1ATcyQxU
