Brock Lesnar had debuted with a bang in March of 2002. Quickly dubbed the Next Big Thing by his mentor, Paul Heyman, Lesnar went on to become the King of the Ring. As a result, Brock earned a match for the WWE Undisputed Championship at that years SummerSlam. As the event grew near, Lesnar continued to dominate much of the WWE locker room. On August 8th, Brock did battle with none other than the Immortal one. Hulk Hogan had previously made a triumphant return to the WWE, initially as part of the New World Order. Following WrestleMania X-8 and the undying support of the fans, Hogan returned to his traditional red and yellow ways. Lesnar was out to prove a point to the WWE fans, the locker room, Hulk Hogan, and his upcoming SummerSlam opponent, The Rock. Brock dominated much of the contest, but the Hulkster would not die. Hogan fired back with a flurry of offense, even taking things to the outside at one point. However, Brock didnt want to just beat the Immortal one, he wanted to solidify his standing in the wrestling world. Lesnar picked Hogan up and slapped him into a bearhug. Brock held onto the hold until the Hulkster passed out. Lesnar had defeated the biggest icon in the wrestling world as he continued his journey to become WWE Champion.
