15 Biggest Political Power Plays By WWE Talents

Shawn Michaels Wwe Title

Shawn Michaels' reputuation for being an arrogant political monster originally stemmed from his association with The Kliq as well as his history of forfeiting championships, rather than losing them in the ring.

In October 1995, Shawn was the Intercontinental Champion and was legitimately beaten-up outside a Syracuse night club, requiring him to take time off to heal. Many in the locker room felt that Shawn still could've worked his scheduled match with Dean Douglas at the upcoming In Your House, but since he was scheduled to lose the championship, talents believed Shawn was exaggerating his injuries to avoid dropping the title to the well known Kliq enemy.

At the event, Shawn forfeited the title (the second time he had done so with the Intercontinental Championship) over to Dean Douglas, but The Kliq would have the last laugh.

Fellow Kliq member, Razor Ramon, was a last-minute substitution for Shawn, defeated Dean Douglas to become the first-ever four-time Intercontinental Champion. Even when facing defeat, The Kliq always managed to come out on top.
