The first meeting of Undertaker and Shawn Michaels did 75,000 more buys than their rematch a year later. What was the added appeal of 2009's Mania 25? It was perhaps down to marketing, with the '25th anniversary of WrestleMania' being heavily pushed. There was also the Orton and Triple H feud which dominated Raw at the time, it ended up a dud, but the interest in the brutal war between Orton and the McMahon's was apparent. The Michaels vs Undertaker match is quite simply the greatest contest WWE have ever featured. Two of the all time greats at their absolute peak, this match had it all in terms of drama and excitement. The athletic contest made up for what was otherwise a dull evening, with fans largely silent for the Orton and Hunter show closing main event.
