Triple H was a heel on the rise while Chyna dominated not just the women's division, but also the men's mid card. The two were a power couple - literally and figuratively - in the then WWF as both were rising to the very top of the company. On the outside there was Stephanie McMahon, the billion dollar princess who was just coming into her own as an on screen character. Being thrust into a story line together involving being kayfabe married (oh the irony), Steph and Hunter's relationship on screen blossomed, so much so that the pair began a secret affair behind the curtains while Trips was still dating Chyna who were even living together at the time. Chyna found out about her man and the bosses daughter after discovering a love letter from Stephanie in Hunter's briefcase that was dated a year old, confirming that the pair had been together for quite some time. According to Chyna, she came to Vince with the information only to be met with the line "Well, I guess the jig is up". She was sent home and told to wait things out as they negotiate a new contract, she was never re-signed and received her release form later that year. Who Lost Out: Despite divorcing in story line, Triple H and Stephanie would marry in 2003 while Chyna scrambled around various wrestling promotions and some work in the entertainment world. The former Women's champion would go on to work in the adult industry and struggle with various drug and alcohol problems, while still being denied a spot in the WWE Hall Of Fame because of it.
