Who's Involved: Vince McMahon, Trish Stratus and Linda McMahon What Happened: This was a story line that most of WWE would like you to forget in the future, providing one of the most misogynistic, disgusting and ego fueling angles in wrestling history. Vinnie Mac wanted a divorce from wife Linda and - being the frail elder woman that she was - she suffered a nervous breakdown after hearing the news and went into a comatose state, needing a wheelchair where she would sit silently with a blank look on her face. In a moment of pure Vince ego boosting madness, the 55 year old (at the time) would make out with his new "toy" Trish Stratus, who was 30 years his junior, in front of an unresponsive Linda on stage in the most blatant show of adultery in history. It only got uglier from there, Trish had sewage poured all over her in the middle of the ring by Vince and his daughter Steph... because WWE. However, the next week on Raw Stratus was forced to get down on all fours and bark like a dog as Vince ordered her to strip in the middle of the ring and crawl around his feet in possibly the most cringe-inducing in-ring segment of all time. Linda and Trish would get their revenge on the senile old man at WrestleMania X-Seven, interfering in his street fight with son Shane to slap him silly and even dish out a low blow on the chairman courtesy of his own wife. Who Lost Out: The progress of women in the wrestling industry certainly lost, but Stratus in particular took a huge blow to her credibility after the embarrassing segments. Being made to play the object of McMahon hurt her standing in the women's division and how she was perceived by fans, although not in the long run as it turned out.
