15. The Formation Of The Brood

All three members of the brood made their WWE TV debuts in 1998. Edge was playing a mysterious loner who rarely spoke (and often finished his promos by doing a confused scream), Christian was floundering in the Light Heavyweight scene and Gangrel was, well, Gangrel. The writers decided to pair the three up, probably because they all had long blonde hair. Edge initially feuded with Gangrel, who was accompanied by Edge's kayfabe brother Christian. Eventually, they convinced Edge to join their ranks and formed The Brood. It was certainly a step up for Edge and Christian, who were going nowhere fast in the singles ranks. The Brood's unique look and awesome entrance made them instantly stand out. Interestingly, The Brood was originally devised as a way to get veteran Gangrel over, with a view to eventually making him a big singles star. Obviously, that didn't happen.
