15 Edge And Christian WWE Moments That Totally Reeked Of Awesomeness

14. The No Mercy 1999 Ladder Match Against The Hardys

By June 1999, The Brood had essentially run its course, and it was time for Edge and Christian to move on since they were developing into a successful tag team. The group split up, and Edge and Christian would be replaced by another talented up-and-coming tag team, The Hardy Boys, who dumped Michael Hayes in favour of Gangrel and dubbed themselves The New Brood. This lead to a best of five series, the Terri Invitational Tournament (T.I.T. - geddit?), where the, ahem, services of manager Terri Runnels were at stake. Tied at two apiece, the decider was to be the first ever tag team ladder match at No Mercy. And what a blinder it was. Both teams threw caution to the wind and produced an innovative, hair-rising match that put both teams firmly on the map. Mick Foley has often said that this is the match where the four men went from being 'WWE wrestlers' to 'WWE superstars'. Even though Edge and Christian lost, it didn't matter because their performance was so good. So good, in fact, that the WWE locker room (who were huddled around a backstage monitor watching) gave them a standing ovation for their efforts.
