Randy Savage and Jake Roberts had a phenomenal rivalry in 1992, but that was a traditional heel/face dynamic with Savage as the virtuous babyface and Roberts as the despicable, wedding-ruining heel. The two had another, truly fascinating match on a Saturday Night's Main Event waaaaaaayyy back in 1986 for Savage's Intercontinental title. The fans decided that they preferred Roberts, but he proved completely unwilling to play even a temporary babyface. He made creepy eye contact with Ms. Elizabeth on pinfall attempts, and deliberately antagonized the crowd by denying them his signature DDT when they chanted for it, even when it would have won him the match. Savage was no slouch either, hiding behind Elizabeth, attacking from behind at every opportunity, and saving his title multiple times by utilizing lazy rope breaks. The match ended on a double disqualification when both men assaulted the referee, who was trying to restore order as the match degenerated into a brawl.
