The Bizarre One has fallen deep into the WWE midcard, thanks to a split from brother Stardust and a lackluster performance in the sibling's match at this past February's Fastlane pay-per-view. Since that night, he has appeared almost exclusively on WWE Superstars and Main Event, with the rare Raw appearance coming one night after WrestleMania XXXI, when he was squashed by an infuriated Rusev. A veteran of the squared circle for nearly three decades, Goldust has accomplished just about everything there is to accomplish at this point. With rumors suggesting that he is about to hang up the black and gold in favor of a job as a producer, it appears unlikely that Goldust will be used in anything even remotely meaningful going forward. Thus, there is solid reasoning for the former intercontinental and tag team champion being lost in the shuffle. With that said, it still would be nice to see someone who has contributed so much to WWE go out with a bang, rather than the whimper he is headed for at this point.
Erik Beaston is a freelance pro wrestling writer who likes long walks in the park, dandelions and has not quite figured out that this introduction is not for Match.com. He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
