15 Great Wrestlers Who Had Very Brief WWE Careers
5. Brent Albright (Gunner Scott)
Brent Albright isn't exactly the type of name that is going to strike fear into the heart of an opponent. Neither is Gunner Scott for that matter. However, let's not take anything away from Albright as a wrestler because he was a damn fine performer.
Albright made his name as an exciting grappler in OVW where he had a lengthy feud with CM Punk. He worked in the developmental promotion for two years before being called up to Smackdown in 2006, under the name Gunner Scott.
Unlike most names on this list, he actually won some of his matches, defeating Booker T in his first two weeks on the brand. They even teased a potential partnership between him and Chris Benoit but just as he was getting going, Albright had the rug pulled out from underneath him.
He was abruptly sent back to OVW and his last appearance on WWE television saw him being placed into a body bag by The Great Khali After his release, Albright did some good things in Ring of Honor and NWA before retiring in 2011. An unfortunate tale of a flame that burnt its brightest far too soon.
