14. Bobby Heenan Wins Rick Rude The IC Title - WrestleMania 5
Managers hold a special place in Wrestling history. They act as representative's or mouthpiece's for their clients. As heels they can help legitimize threats to the seemingly unbeatable superheroes that are wrestling's babyfaces. Perhaps no one in wrestling history was as proficient at antagonizing faces and building credibility than Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan. While Bobby would come up short in his dealings with Hulk Hogan representing King Kong Bundy (Wrestleania II) and Andre The Giant (Wrestlemania III) while Hulkamania reigned supreme, 'The Brain' would finally taste Wrestlemania victory while managing 'Ravishing' Rick Rude in his bout against the Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania V. For months 'The Brain' had been taunting The Ultimate Warrior, insulting his intelligence, talking up Rick Rude and letting fans know that he would be instrumental in their match. Heenan did not dissapoint, winning the Ravishing one the Intercontinental Championship by pulling on The Ultimate Warriors leg while giving Rude a suplex from the apron resulting in Rude landing on the Warrior and pinning him 1-2-3 in the ring. Typically fans react strongly to this kind of shenanigans but in this particular case the building had went silent, as if almost in disbelief that one of their heroes could lose on the grandest stage of them all, while 'The Brain' and Rick Rude quickly shuffled off to the back, presumably to celebrate with other members of the infamous Heenan Family.
