15 Greatest WCW Tag Teams Of All Time

5. The Nasty Boys

The Nasty Boys were a groundbreaking team when they debuted in WCW in 1990. In an era of trunks and boots, The Nasty Boys had a completely unique 'street' look, wearing all black, leather, graffiti-inspired designs and sporting mullet/mohawk hairstyles. It certainly made an impression with WCW fans but their first run there was a short and uneventful one. They left after less than a year with the company and wrestled for the WWF from 1990-93 before returning to Atlanta. Their second run in the company would prove to be a lot more successful than their first as they became one of the premier tag teams in the business. They quickly won the WCW Tag Team Titles and had some phenomenal, brutal brawls against the team of Maxx Payne and Cactus Jack. These were cutting-edge brawls in mainstream wrestling in 1994, the likes of which could only be found elsewhere on the indies or in Japan. The Nasty Boys were stiff and a little sloppy at times but were great brawlers and had some great matches in spite of their limited athletic ability. Backstage, The Nasty Boys had a reputation for causing trouble and pulling ribs. One of the cruelest ribs was pulled on Eddie Guerrero on a flight to Japan. Guerrero passed out after partying a little too hard and Saggs and Knobbs shaved off his eyebrows, part of his hair and facial hair. Eddie had to wrestle in front of thousands of fans the next week looking like Frankenstein. The Nasty Boys broke up in 1996 when Saggs retired but reformed on the independent circuit and even received a WWE tryout match in 2007 against the team of Drew McIntyre and Dave Taylor, which they screwed up by working excessively stiff and disobeying the orders of Taylor and road agents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=657_ZVaSP-8
