15 Greatest WCW Tag Teams Of All Time

3. Harlem Heat

Harlem Heat were something of a rarity in the wrestling world, a tag team that were actually brothers in real life. Stevie Ray and Booker T wrestled on the independent circuit honing their act before signing with WCW in 1993. The pair were originally going to debut as a pair of 'wrestling prisoners' won by Col. Rob Parker but that was thankfully dropped thanks to WCW realising how racially insensitive it was. Believe it or not, they were going to come out in wrist and foot shackles and be given something akin to slave names before WCW came to their senses. Harlem Heat had momentum right from the get-go, squaring off with some of the biggest stars in the company like British Bulldog and Sting. The pair won their first Tag Team championship in late 94 under the management of Sensational Sherri. They would enjoy nine more reigns with the belts, a company record. 1997 was probably Heat's best year. They had notable feuds with The Steiners, the nWo and Public Enemy and were really starting to produce in the ring. It was obvious that Booker T was the standout of the team and he went off to do his own thing soon after, getting over on his own but periodically returning to team with his brother. The less said about Harlem Heat 2000 the better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wrtT6uEe5w
