15 Greatest WCW Tag Teams Of All Time

2. The Road Warriors

Oooooooh, what a rush! The Road Warriors are one of the greatest tag teams in the history of professional wrestling. Making their name in Georgia Championship Wrestling, the AWA and Japan during the 1980s, the team were also a huge part of the NWA/WCW. With their face paint, imposing physiques and smash mouth style the Road Warriors quickly became one of the most dominant tag teams in the business. They worked stiff and beat the tar out of jobbers, often finishing them off with their terrifying finisher the Doomsday Device. They were a fixture of WCW broadcasts between 1986-1990, before they joined the WWF where they would be repacked as the Legion Of Doom. After leaving the WWF, the Road Warriors worked the indies and Japan before returning to WCW in 1996. Unfortunately, their second run would be nowhere near as memorable as their first. Despite feuding with Sting & Lex Luger, The Steiners and Harlem Heat and being a featured act, they left WCW after only six months with the company due to a contract dispute with Eric Bischoff. They claimed that Bischoff had promised them more money than what they were making and would also allow them to continue wrestling in Japan, which Bischoff denies. They returned to the WWF but the magic was clearly long gone. Still, nothing can take away the Road Warriors run in the 1980s. They might not have had many classic matches, but they got over, made money and left a legacy. That's a hell of a lot more than many tag teams could wish to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIFgCHNwNIQ
