15 Greatest WCW Tag Teams Of All Time

14. Rey Mysterio And Billy Kidman

WCW was a sorry excuse for a promotion in its dying days in 2001. Nonsensical, bleeding money and lacking direction, even the staunchest of longtime fans opted to tune out during this period. With many top stars having already defected to the WWF and WCW unable to afford others' services, WCW at least looked towards the future and began to push young, exciting competitors. A welcome, if ultimately pointless, addition to the show was the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles. The belts were introduced in February 2001 and featured a wide range of competitors, including a young AJ Styles. One of the teams entered into the tournament was Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman, who were former members of the Filthy Animals stable along with Eddie Guerrero, Torrie Wilson and Konan. They made it to the finals at the Greed pay-per-view, losing to Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo in a great match. Rey and Kidman won the belts on the final edition of Nitro a week later, becoming the second (and last) champions. Whenever Kidman and Mysterio teamed up you know you were going to get your money's worth. They brought their team back for a short run in the WWE in 2003, the highlight of which was an underrated thriller with The World's Greatest Tag Team at Vengeance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_Ap9Ugrp8c
