WWE have shown uncharacteristic patience in not throwing Randy Orton into a triple threat scenario with the Jeff Hardy/Shinsuke Nakamura match still a relatively fresh proposition on Sunday's supercard.

The pair fought in a squash interrupted by a returning 'Viper' at July's Extreme Rules, with Orton's heel turn welcomed by those bored by the glad-handing babyface that took a break months earlier.

He's almost certain to feature in either the contest's climax or match itself, which frees the three up for a further match long before the programme has managed to get stale. A rare case of WWE having the content to serve their schedule, this entire angle has been an understated boon for the blue brand after all three appeared likely to meander for the rest of the year. Shinsuke keeping hold of his newly-won prize allows for the relatively satisfying continuation.
