15 Match Star Ratings For AEW All Out 2022

8. FTR & Wardlow Vs. Jay Lethal & Motor City Machine Guns

Jon Moxley CM Punk
AEW

This was very good, but the Elite are so phenomenal at what they do that an exhausted crowd only received about an hour of what followed politely.

The exchanges between the Motor City Machine Guns and FTR were incredible, but also a little bit sad. They worked so hard and so well together, but the vibe was more "They should just do a tag at a different time" than "This is awesome". Cash Wheeler, one of the most acclaimed wrestlers of the year, still wrestled with something to prove. He doesn't receive the same plaudits nor opportunities as Dax Harwood, so it was rewarding to watch him form the emotional crux of the match. He toiled mostly in vain.

At least one match is always going to be affected on a card as stacked as this. The fans, knowing this was an excuse to get FTR on the card in a match devoid of stakes, chose this one for a rest.

Remember All Petite Wrestling? Wardlow killing both Sabin and Shelley at once was a cool reminder that this company just gets the hoss destroyer role, but ultimately, this was as good as it was unnecessary: a ****1/2 TV match on a Wednesday, a slight imposition on a weekend.

Star Rating: ★★★½
