CM Punk infamously cut a promo that made fun of Jerry Lawler's real life heart attack, but it is Lawler who has ultimately had the last laugh. The King owns a surprising three wins over Punk, with the younger star having just one victory over the veteran Raw commentator. It is just one of those ironies that this business throws up, but knowing Punk, it is probably something that did annoy him. The Straight Edge Superstar never saw himself as someone who should be doing meaningless jobs, instead he felt like his character should be protected in the same way that a Steve Austin would never do a job to a commentator.
