15 Most Surprising WWE WrestleMania Match Finishes

14. Danny Davis Pins Davey Boy Smith (WrestleMania 3)

In the story, Davis had lost his refereeing job for unethical officiating, costing The British Bulldogs and Tito Santana the Tag Team and Intercontinental belts, respectively. Davis aligned as a wrestler with The Hart Foundation, beneficiaries of the Bulldogs' loss, and a six man tag was signed for WrestleMania. Surely, Davis would be mauled by his angry foes. Davis only tagged into the match when an opponent was prone on the mat. He'd land a few stomps, then tag back out to the sounds of sheer anger from 90,000 fans. Finally, Davis got his comeuppance, spiked like a javelin by a vicious tombstone from Davey Boy. To the crowd's dismay, however, the bandy-armed referee managed to strike Davey with Jimmy Hart's megaphone, and then pinned him. The pipsqueak manager helping the barely-conscious Davis to the locker room remains a humorous visual.
