15 Secret WWE Pasts Of Top AEW Stars
5. Kris Statlander
Among fans and the roster she works alongside, Kris Statlander is one of AEW's most beloved superstars. Jacked like a beast and a phenomenal wrestler to boot, Stat Daddy is a former AEW Women's Champion who helped elevate the company's global reputation for putting on world-class matches.
WWE had a different take on Her Royal Statness. WWE had Statlander team with the future Elektra Lopez as one half of the Brooklyn Belles, who suffered a quick defeat at the hands of WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, The Iiconics. This was not even close to being the worst part of the ordeal, as the dreaded WWE name change nearly bit Kris in a big way.
In an appearance on the Chris Van Vliet podcast, Statlander revealed that her tag team was originally considered to be called the Brooklyn Pizza Connection, with the absurd names 'Saucy' and 'Cheesy' both being offered to Statlander. Thankfully, Statlander and Lopez were spared that particular embarrassment by being given the far more sensible names of Karissa and Kristen. This 'one and done' performance was the only WWE appearance from The Brooklyn Belles.
