15 Terrible Matches Triple H Wants You To Forget

4. Triple H & Steve Austin Vs. Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit - Raw, May 2001

Of course, New Years' Revolution 2007 wasn't the first time that Triple H had torn a quad in an important Tag Team Championship match, only to gamely carry on and finish. The Game tore his other quad on the May 21st 2001 Raw main event. It looked innocuous enough upon first watch. He was breaking up Chris Jericho's Walls of Jericho attempt on Steve Austin when he crumpled to the mat in obvious pain. Triple H described the feeling as having 'been like shot in the thigh' and that he knew he had 'seriously messed something up'. Still, Triple H was a trooper, and knew there was a match to finish. He even took a Walls of Jericho on the announce table, which must have felt like hell. Triple H has been commended for finishing, and it undoubtedly took a lot of guts, but it would have probably been better for him in the long run if he had've let Austin carry the ending. Triple H missed the whole of the Invasion angle thanks to the injury, but the company didn't let fans forget about him. Vignettes constantly played which showed Triple H's progress before, during and after surgery.
