15 Things We Just Learned From Kurt Angle About WWE & His Career

12. His Greatest Achievement

Obviously, the medal he won at the Olympics and his World Championship medal stand head and shoulders above his other career achievements, and his kids are probably his finest personal accolade, but Angle was challenged to come up with what he's proudest of away from those two.

He seems particularly proud to admit that his transition from amateur wrestling to sports entertainment - a difficult prospect given that it effectively represented the opposite of what he'd always trained for - is his most impressive feat:

"The way I was able to turn my wrestling gold medal into a professional wrestling career. Amateur wrestlers show no emotion. To go from one thing to another that is the complete opposite and be able to have the success I've had, it speaks volumes of what I was able to do. I'm probably in the top three of having the strongest persona, being able to cut a great promo and having some of the best five star matches when you sum it all together. And I'm a former amateur wrestler... That doesn't happen very often... We've had others since... but they all followed me and I think I was able to open the door for a lot of them."

Considering he talks about the perception among amateur wrestlers that sports entertainment is for "sissies" in his own words, that's a big deal. He also took the time to challenge Conor McGregor on that front - "I'd love him to take five bumps, he would change his mind."
