In late 2000 and early 2001, his target became his own family. The story of Vince as an awful husband saw him drug his wife Linda to the point that she was in a comatose state for months. Yeah, that's right, he spoke on camera about how he drugged his wife and nobody, not even the police or other WWE superstars, really seemed to care. While Linda was all drugged up, Vince began an affair with Trish Stratus, who was the favorite diva of many male wrestling fans in that era. She went from managing a tag team to being a part of a main storyline with the boss. It was a big push for her. On an episode of Raw, Vince had Trish Stratus strip down to her bra and panties to 'prove how much she loved him'. After she did that, she went on her hands and knees and barked like a dog. This segment drew a lot of negative press, with Sky Sports in the UK refusing to show it due to its overwhelming misogyny. As is the case with a lot of stories in everything, the babyfaces were able to overcome the rotten heels. Trish got her revenge by slapping Vince at WrestleMania and Linda rose from her chair to deliver a lethal kick to the balls of her cheating husband. It was later revealed that Trish had stopped giving her the drugs, so they worked together to screw Vince over.
