15 Times WWE Stars Made Cameos BEFORE They Were Famous

13. Grayson Waller

Alexa, play Cranberries' classic 'Zombie'.

Nobody who watched it at the time could quite fathom what Vince McMahon was thinking by booking the first ever 'Zombie Lumberjack Match' at WrestleMania Backlash in 2021. The then-boss left it up to both Damian Priest and The Miz to wing it and try to convincingly work a match whilst the undead circled waiting to strike. Throw you back in or chomp a leg off - who knew what the zombie lumberjacks would do?!

Famously, ex-'Attitude Era' favourite Scotty 2 Hotty was one of the extras, but he was joined by other names who hadn't quite made a splash on the WWE roster just yet. Look at the screen grab above to see Austin Theory's best mate Grayson Waller doing his best 'Walking Dead' impression as he prepares to sell some of John Morrison's ringside parkour shenanigans.

That was just one of the many distraction spots Miz and Priest had to lay out for on the night. To make things even stranger, 'Mania Backlash took place in the old ThunderDome (actually Tampa's Yuengling Center), so there were no fans in attendance live for the PLE. Being fair, a "Zombie Lumberjack Match" might not have sold too many tickets under normal circumstances anyway.

Waller has since gone on to become a semi-main roster success after spending bags of time on NXT. WWE has repeatedly postponed his split from Theory though, and that definitely hasn't helped the duo thrive. Currently, all Grayson has to look forward to is a trip back home for Crown Jewel 2025.
