15 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Oct 23)

5. Establishing The Draw

AEW introduced the time-limit draw as a legitimate finish at Fyter Fest, where Darby Allin pushed future World Championship contender Cody to the edge. On Dynamite, they cemented it in the PAC vs. Jon Moxley main event, with the night's remaining TV time expiring before either man could put the other away.

This is smart. Provided it doesn't become a crutch, the time-limit draw can be used sparingly as a means of avoiding unwanted losses. Even if the clock doesn't count down, the draw's looming threat builds great suspense, as shown in Moxley vs. PAC, and it's another neat little trope AEW can use to differentiate themselves from WWE.

Restraint is key here, but it's another useful tool in AEW's rapidly growing toolbox.
