15 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 29)

5. Cesaro & Mysterio Set The Pace

Unsurprisingly, the gauntlet's most impressive fall was the one involving Cesaro.

While the clamour for 'The Swiss Superman' to be pushed to the moon has largely dissipated over the years, he remains one of WWE's most dazzling in-ring performers. His fluidity, technicality, creativity, and stunning, stunning moveset mean that everything he does is worth checking out. Here, he meshed perfectly with a veteran in Rey Mysterio, whom he has only ever gone one-on-one with once.

Cesaro worked to batter Mysterio and grind him down. He lobbed him against the post and hit a ringside European Uppercut, before the duo started trading big bombs. At one point, Cesaro had Rey primed for a second-rope powerbomb, only for Mysterio to counter out with a flying bulldog, and we were treated to the glorious visual of 'The Swiss Superman' uppercutting him out of the sky, too. These moments made it an aesthetic feast at times, though Cesaro's onslaught couldn't guide him to victory.

A compelling fall concluded with the 619 and a top rope splash. Cesaro was foiled once again, though he looked great in the process.
