15 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 29)

The ennui that is starting to creep into Seth Rollins' babyface character necessitated something big on last night's Raw. While only a small number of fans have turned on 'The Beast Slayer' thus far and he remains over-as-hell with most audience members, WWE had no choice but to stop his rot if he's to be Raw's protagonist for the immediate future, and they accomplished it in spectacular style with Brock Lesnar's beatdown last night.

This was absolutely perfect.

Brock began by interrupting Rollin's match with Dolph Ziggler, battering his rival all over ringside. Seth rag-dolled himself like a pro for Lesnar's German Suplexes and throws. He played his sympathetic role excellently, and Brock, the most convincing destroyer in the company, brought the head. Chairshots followed, before 'The Beast' hit three F5s onto the seats. A retching Rollins was bleeding from the mouth by this point.

Seth was taken away by paramedics and loaded into an ambulance, but he wasn't safe. Lesnar, that absolute piece of sh*t, was dragged out then assaulted on the concrete. F5'd onto his own stretcher, Rollins was left broken, beaten, bloodied, and wailing, having fallen victim to a rival who'd gone way too far.

WWE couldn't have scripted a more effective segment. Everyone nailed it, and suddenly, those complaints re: Rollins' character don't seem so important.
