15 Worst Moments Of The WWE Pandemic Era

4. Burning Fiend Alive

Speaking of terrible Fiend moments, why not discuss the time Randy Orton literally burned another wrestler alive in the center of the ring?

Orton and Fiend were in the midst of a crappy feud that involved playing hide-and-seek, until their TLC 2020 match was turned into a Firefly Inferno Match at the last minute. Inferno matches rarely work under normal circumstances, but perhaps with the magic of pre-recording, a cinematic inferno match would break the streak.

Only, WWE decided to take it to new depths of stupidity.

After lighting Fiend on fire, Orton laid him out and then retrieved a gas can, dousing his fallen opponent. Then, Randy struck a match and lit the Fiend on fire, burning him alive to close out the PPV.

Rather than open Raw the next night with a homicide investigation or arrest, the show opened as normal, as if there wasn’t an attempted murder to close the show. Worse, this angle persisted, until Fiend returned as a melted and charred version of himself months later – only to disappear again after inexplicably surviving human arson but jobbing to an RKO.

Just seriously, eff this company.
