Somewhere in the world, poor Kevin Nash's spine is probably still smarting from a reckless show of disregard for safety from the then-'King' Mabel at SummerSlam 1995. The gargantuan heavyweight kicked his legs out from underneath himself and landed butt-first on Diesel's back. The reigning WWF Champion let out a pained yell, and the spot almost cost Mabel his job once officials got hold of him backstage.

That one moment summed up a disastrous main event bid which started at the dreary King Of The Ring '95 pay-per-view. Mabel won the tournament, seized the crown, turned into a snooty royal and challenged Nash for the WWF Title. Most federation fans knew this headline tilt would be rotten from the get go, but few were prepared for just how rotten - Mabel was abominable at the top of the card.

Every single one of his matches tanked. He'd been fine enough in a tag-team role as Men On A Mission with the smaller Mo in his corner. Mo could do most of the work, take a beating from opponents and then tag Mabel in for some power moves and a comeback, but that was all the big guy was really capable of. On his own, he struggled to put on performances worth seeing.

Well, they were worth seeing in a 'worst wrestling ever' sort of way, but that was about it. No-one could blame the company for trying to create fresh stars or attraction matches like the monster vs. monster vibes of Diesel vs. 'King' Mabel, but this push didn't work at all. In fact, it was even less impressive than most figured it would be after that KOTR shocker.

As Metallica once roared: "Where's your crown, king nothing?".
