15 WWE Break-Ups That IMMEDIATELY Backfired

Some tag splinters need to happen. They just do. For a prime example, look at that aforementioned issue between The Rockers. Shawn Michaels was heading for bigger things, and everyone reasoned that Marty Jannetty could work well as a singles too before personal problems ruined that for him. Similarly, Bret Hart was the clear solo star of The Hart Foundation. He'd outgrown Jim Neidhart by the time they started doing their own things in 1991.

Nothing of the sort could be said for The Hart Dynasty, a more modern Foundation offshoot. Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith were some tag team who complemented one another well in-ring, and Natayla was an excellent addition to the trio as manager/women’s division representative. Things looked to be going well for the trio before the 15 November 2010 Raw rolled along. That's when Kidd refused to tag in during a match vs. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater, and this Dynasty started to fall apart.

Here's the kicker: Afterwards, WWE ended up putting both guys back in tags anyway! Smith teamed up with the likes of Yoshi Tatsu, and Kidd formed a new team with Cesaro before a cruel injury ended his career. Dissolving The Hart Dynasty when the writers did made no sense, and it didn’t lead to anything worthwhile for either male member longer term.

It was idiotic, to tell the truth.

Kidd and Smith looked to have years ahead of them as a popular duo. Worse, neither guy had the singles upside that the likes of Shawn or Bret did a generation before. It was a knee-jerk decision to split them, and one that WWE would come to regret. The fools.
