Bray Wyatt needed a bloody statue built in his honour for repeatedly offsetting dire WWE booking and still finding a way to connect with the fanbase. Genuine, heartfelt statement incoming: Bray's creativity and zest for being an all-round entertainer bailed the company out several times. On occasion, it was like they were going out of their way to spoil his fun.

In 2014, The Shield’s split was impactful and memorable, but the same can't be said for The Wyatt Family. That was just flat out confusing. Bray announced on the 29 September 2014 Raw that he was setting both Luke Harper and Erick Rowan “free” from The Family, and it was wholly unnecessary. Harper joined The Authority and Rowan kicked about doing very little until they reunited as a team anyway.

Then, WWE went back on their own plan by reuniting The Wyatts at Battleground in July 2015. With a twist. Braun Strowman was installed as a brand new member, and he was clearly more intimidating than either Harper or Rowan from the off. Truthfully, plans for Rowan and Harper without Wyatt as their on-screen leader were half-baked and flimsy. Luke becoming part of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's power base didn't sit right somehow, and Rowan just had no sense of purpose.

Bray could've done with both troops when feuding with The Undertaker heading into WrestleMania 31 too. That would've made it more believable that he was about to double down on 'Taker's streak pain by adding another loss to the icon's previously unblemished record.

This was one split that helped exactly nobody, including fans who had been enjoying The Wyatt Family.
