15 WWE Stars Who Loved To Be Hated

5. Edge

Even though Edge's career was cut short by injury, he came into his own in his role as a WWE heel. Former stars always tell us that it's much more enjoyable being booed because they're afforded more creative freedom, and Edge took that freedom and ran with it in his heyday. He was the UItimate Opportunist, a man who made history to become the first ever winner of the WWE Championship after a 'Money in the Bank' cash in. That moment marked Edge's status as a true top star and put him on an entirely new level as a hated character. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_2H6vIZR4g He'd even go on to rub the win in our faces with a live sex show celebration, a segment eaten up by fans who grew in their hatred for the Rated R Superstar. Edge went on to win the championship a total of 11 times and forge a lethal partnership alongside fellow top heel Randy Orton, with the pair playing perfect opponents to DX in 2006. He'd continue to flirt between heel and face up until his retirement, but you get the feeling that Edge could have still hit bigger heights if he didn't have to pack it in.
