The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be. That’s one of Bret Hart’s monikers, and it’s particularly apt when it comes to SummerSlam.

From his Hart Foundation days, his singles career, and even as part of Team Cena against The Nexus, The Hitman usually delivered the goods when it came to August on the wrestling calendar.

In terms of SummerSlam highs, Bret and Jim Neidhart defeated Demolition in a 2/3 Falls Match in 1990. Then one of Bret’s biggest matches and one of the greatest SummerSlam matches of all time is Hart’s ’91 Intercontinental Title win over Mr. Perfect. Even better was his ’94 Cage Match against brother Owen in which Bret retained his WWF Championship. His '97 WWF Title win against The Undertaker wasn't too shabby, either.

Even in a losing effort, Bret would also be involved in another SummerSlam favourite when losing his IC Title to Davey Boy Smith in 1992. Of all of the names on this list, nobody was involved in so many high quality matches as Bret Hart.

Sorry, Shawn Michaels fans.
