16 Awesome Stories From Eddie Guerrero Tribute On Talk Is Jericho

10. Trying To Murder Baby Chavo

Chavo tells a hilarious story about his uncle from when he was just an infant and Eddie was toddler. He explains that even though the two are uncle and nephew, because of the closeness in age - just three years separate them - they were more like brothers. The majority of their childhood Eddie grew up in Texas while Chavo was in California but anytime the two of them were together they were "thick as thieves." But Eddie wasn't always so fond of little Chavo. As youngsters are prone to do, he became jealous of his nephew once he was no longer the doted-upon baby in the Guerrero family. Eddie didn't like it that his grandmother was paying more attention to Chavo than she was him, and he was apparently determined to take matters into his own hands. One night they were all sitting around the house and the grandmother decided she would step in and check on baby Chavo, and when she did she found Eddie with a telephone cord wrapped around the throat of the infant, trying to strangle the life out of him. Luckily the grandmother arrived in time to prevent a murder and sent Eddie away. This story is hilarious for the banter between the three, as Dean says Eddie was just "getting heat on Chavo" and then Jericho jokes that he pulled the telephone cord out of his tights. Chavo said he never let Eddie live the attempted homicide down.
