16 WWE Superstars Who Did Not Belong At WrestleMania
14. The Boogeyman
Ah, The Boogeyman. The supernatural homage to corny horror flicks made an immediate impact upon his arrival in 2005, targeting industry giants like Eric Bischoff and former WWE champion John Bradshaw Layfield. Upon wrapping up his brief program with Layfield, he set his sights on another world championship-winning Texan, Booker T. The five-time WCW champion was not the only one targeted by the supernatural freak. Wife Sharmell found herself stalked and even kidnapped by the face-painted freak ahead of WrestleMania 22. Of course, the story culminated in a two-on-one Handicap match pitting the happy couple against the terrifying Superstar, a match that ranks as one of the worst in event history. The Boogeyman was incredibly green, a 40-year-old rookie trying to make a career for himself in a young man's industry. From an in-ring perspective, he never progressed, using the most basic of power strikes and maneuvers because anything more would have exposed his considerable weaknesses. It really was not his fault. Someone his age, with his lack of in-ring ability, never should have been put in the position that he was. But there he was, relishing in a spot on the most important card of the year. That year, WWE tag team champions MNM were left off of the show, as was William Regal. They were robbed of a spot on the show in favor of a ludicrous character better suited to backstage cameos, as witnessed a year later.
