Unlike Rusev, Cesaro has never received a main event push despite possessing better in-ring skills. He won the United States title from Santino Marella on the pre-show of SummerSlam 2012. 'The Swiss Cyborg' had a stellar reign as champion as he defended his title against some of the top guys of the company before losing it to Kofi Kingston in April.

He has featured in the mid-card title picture and the tag team division regularly over the last few years. However, the writers have never given him an all-out push even though the fans are behind him all the time. Currently, the former US Champion is playing the role of a sidekick on SmackDown.

He is a member of King Corbin's faction which also features Shinsuke Nakamura, having performed identical duties for Sami Zayn before that. A face turn for Cesaro would be best for business, but since the backstage officials do not like him much, the wrestling universe may never see him at the top of the industry.
