Roman Reigns is typically booked to be the dynamic, rising star. He gets plenty of opportunities to use his mighty arsenal if power moves, just not on this night.

He and his partner Seth Rollins would defend their Tag Team Championships for the last time at Battleground 2013 when the competed in a losing effort to Cody Rhodes and Goldust.

The Rhodes family were involved in a feud with The Authority at this time that had them often-fired and trying to regain their jobs. Patriarch Dusty would accompany them to the ring to either win the belts or be permanently unemployed by the WWE.

Roman got in very little offense during the match but can at least be complemented on his sufficient defensive role. There was a hot tag to Goldust in the middle of this in which Roman would spend several minutes being the elder Rhodes' punching bag.

Cody would hit the Cross Rhodes on Seth to win he and his brother the Titles. It would be the last time Roman would wear WWE gold to date.
