17 Things We Learned From AJ Styles On Talk Is Jericho
14. Taking A Chance In Leaving Japan
Chris talks about how AJ took a big step leaving Japan and calls him a "top, top guy headlining the Tokyo Dome, which is a massive thing, especially for a foreigner in Japan" and calls it a leap of faith to go from a place where he was a champion to a place where he's basically starting from scratch again. Styles agrees and says he literally has to start over again, and despite what people may say about him - and he's very appreciative of all the accolades - he now has to show the WWE universe what he can do and that's what it's all about now, but that he's up for the challenge. Jericho declares that he believes once a wrestler learns how to get over somewhere he can take that knowledge and use it to get over anywhere. It might take a while to hone in on the different nuances, but since AJ has figured it out everywhere else he's sure he'll be able to do the same in WWE. Styles agrees and says it's going to take time and it's all about experience.
"I've just got to get a little more experience here and I know I don't have a lot of time to do that but I think I'm going to be able to make that happen. If I were a betting man I'd bet on myself. I always have and I've done alright."
