17 Things We Learned From AJ Styles On Talk Is Jericho

13. Differences In The WWE

Being a seasoned and well-traveled veteran, Jericho is curious what some of the differences are that he's noticed since coming to WWE. AJ says one of the main things he was worried about was the ring. He says he hasn't been in one since 2002 and he was pretty nervous, adding that the ropes he remembered weren't as tight as the current ones. When planning for the Rumble he had to take that into account because he was afraid he may actually get eliminated before he was supposed to. The first time he went up to perform a springboard maneuver he did it from the corner to make sure he'd get enough height. He was also worried about the size of the ring compared to New Japan but says the difference isn't very noticeable - WWE's may be slightly bigger - and it doesn't make a difference. He also points out that in WWE you're further away from the fans, and everywhere else he's worked you had to worry about hitting the guardrail if you go over the top rope, but other than things like that there isn't much of a difference.
