4. October - Neville 'Walks Out'

Just a few months shy of Austin Aries picking up his bindle and deserting WWE's cruiserweight division for life on the road, the purple brand's star performer Neville seemingly followed suit.

In October, it was reported that the Geordie was about to become 'the man that WWE forgot' after he walked out of the company. The flounce was apparently in bitter protest against his relatively lowly status as part of the sub-205 crew, the final straw allegedly coming when the brand's champ was asked to lose yet again to interloper Enzo Amore. WWE denied Neville had left the company, but his exit soon became received wisdom amongst gossiping wrestling fans overeager to believe any and all rumours emerging about the story.

Supposedly he and Amore were at loggerheads, though such claims were later refuted, the pair actually said to be good buds. It was an element of the saga almost certainly exaggerated by the repeatedly surfacing tales of Enzo's backstage unpopularity.

In mid-November, PWInsider revealed that Neville and WWE had reached detente, with the former expected to return imminently. And then, it was apparently off again. We don't know what to believe anymore.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
